VOCATIONAL SERVICES

—Job Analysis

SCOPE--Complete on-site analysis that identifies actual duties and working conditions. Reviewed by a treating physician to help determine the claimant's eligibility to receive vocational rehabilitation services and/or appropriateness of job duties for a return to work.

RESULT--Documentation of whether the claimant is able to return to their prior occupation. Documentation of appropriateness of new job in light of claimant disability.

—Initial Interview

SCOPE--Interview claimant to determine vocational assets and limitations. Review and summarize current medical status, education, employment, history and transferable skills.

RESULT--Written report evaluating claimant's return to work capability with specific recommendations for further activities directed toward returning the claimant to work.

—Vocational Exploration

SCOPE--Counselor and claimant work together to explore various vocational alternatives.

RESULT--Written report identifying various vocational goals.

—Labor Market Survey

SCOPE--Assessment of local labor market identifying available jobs and their wages.

RESULT--Written report documenting labor market conditions.

—Vocational Rehabilitation Plan Development

SCOPE--Counselor and claimant work together to identify a vocational goal and to develop a plan and a timetable for achieving that goal. Once plan is developed, the counselor will provide services required to successfully complete it.

RESULT--Written vocational plan identifying a vocation and a method to achieve goals. VRS provides the services needed to achieve the vocational goal.

—Implementation

SCOPE--Prepare claimant by identifying the employment availability of resources that are available to help facilitate a quick return to the workforce.

RESULT--Attainment of job seeking/holding skills. Preparation of resumes.

—Job Seeking Skills

SCOPE--Counselor and claimant work together to identify job leads that match claimant skills with employment opportunities. Counselor also works with employers to assure smooth transition and employment.

RESULT--Placement in a job that is consistent with claimant's abilities and limitations.

—Job Development and Placement

SCOPE--Support service to maintain employment.

RESULT--Assures placement and documents case closure.
